BreakThruIT to Use Voyager Edge For Next-Generation Mobile Social and Application FrameworkNovember 16, 2007; 08:10 AM San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) November 15, 2007 -- BreakThruIT, Inc., a global provider of next-generation software platforms and applications, announced today that it will be integrating Recursion Software's Voyager Edge with its wireless Mobile Social Software applications, and its forthcoming Mobile Application Framework (MAF). The Voyager Edge platform will be utilized in the wireless version of Forever Young's initiative, OnceLikeMe, a technology-based mentoring initiative. Voyager will enable OnceLikeMe's unique Mobile Social Networking capabilities that incorporate location aware technology and presence. BreakthruIT will use the next release of Voyager scheduled for Q1, which will add support for the .NET Compact Framework and SIP integration to existing Java, Linux, Windows Mobile and Symbian (CDC) compatibility. The current web and wireless version of OnceLikeMe allows for people to search for mentors based on any combination the following: name, ethnicity, gender, school/university, career and employer as well as interests, personal challenges, family life, community and responsibilities they experienced both as youths and adults," stated Jonathan Roberts, Creative Director of OnceLikeMe. "We are working closely with BreakThruIT to select smart phones that we will target for the initial version of the wireless application, which is in final testing. We think it is a unique opportunity for smartphone manufacturers and wireless network providers to provide a capability that will change the lives of the world's youths," added Roberts. The Mobile 2.0 Application Framework allows for building wireless
applications using JME, Web Services, AJAX and the Google Web Toolkit,
including Google Maps and Google Earth. Additionally, BreakThruIt will
be adding support for Google's recently announced Open Social
capabilities. "Voyager Edge is a perfect fit for companies like BreakThruIT that are planning to build next-generation location-based applications that will become pervasive over the coming years and change every aspect of our lives," said Paul Lipari, CEO of Recursion Software. "Voyager Edge's ability to span the widest range of devices and OSs, including Google Android, Windows Mobile and most Symbian devices, will provide revolutionary social networking capabilities as well as future-proof BreakThruIT's wireless products and Mobile Application Framework." Delivery of the Mobile OnceLikeMe Mentoring Application and the Mobile Application Framework will be in Q1 2008.
