Australian Companies iTWire and Paxus Join Forces to Deliver Services for Technology Job Seekers

December 4, 2006; 04:21 AM
iTWire and Paxus today announced a marketing agreement which will involve Paxus (www.paxus.com.au) listing all of its IT jobs on the iTWire site (www.itwire.com.au) and iTWire delivering a comprehensive, daily IT & telecommunications news service to Paxus customers, including IT contractors and the country's major employers of technology professionals.

Paxus Marketing Manager, Amanda Miles and iTWire Director Marketing, Peter Dinham announced the marketing agreement and said they were confident the mix of up-to-date iTWire technology news, industry comment and opinion with the listing of hundreds of technology jobs would fill a gap in the market for this type of service.
'Paxus is confident that iTWire have the right mix of up-to-the-minute news and analysis of the technology market in Australia and internationally that will complement the listing of a large number of jobs Paxus takes to the market every month,- says Amanda Miles.

'From an IT professional's point of view, to be able to get a snapshot of local and global IT&T news and issues, as well as browse jobs of interest, is a powerful combination, and Paxus is proud to support an independent Australia online initiative.-
Peter Dinham said iTWire was delighted to partner Paxus in a strategic initiative which had the potential to ultimately establish iTWire as the market leader and specialist online provider of technology jobs nationally in the Australian recruitment market.

'The Paxus-iTWire partnership has a very clear objective to connect IT professionals in private industry and government with IT jobs and, at the same time, deliver the latest technology news and analysis.-
Amanda Miles said Paxus was better positioned than any other IT recruiter to find, place and manage IT professionals, particularly with the company's focus on supplying large volumes of highly qualified IT people under formal preferred supplier agreements.

'Paxus currently manages a contractor base of more than 2,600 IT contractors and is able to leverage that position from more than 30 years experience in the industry.-
Paxus experienced 40% growth this year, achieved revenues in excess of $275 million in the 2006 financial year and has national coverage with offices in every Australian major capital city.

iTWire was launched in 2005 and has grown rapidly to become the number one independent Australian online IT&T news resource attracting up to one-million visitors every month and 8,000 subscribers to its daily e-newsletter.

iTWire's team of highly experienced technology journalists provide day-to-day coverage of the most important stories in both the Australian and global IT and telecommunications industries.
The team is led by Editor-in-Chief Stan Beer, a technology journalist and media commentator of more than 30 years experience, who looks at the breaking news in the IT industry and delivers his own, hard-hitting comment and analysis on the issues of the day. The telecommunications sector is the domain of Stuart Corner, a leading and respected telco commentator of many years experience.

iTWire also has a new look website, re-branding with a modern, stylised logo reflecting iTWire's increasing profile as Australia's number one online technology news resource.

iTWire's Site Director, Paul Hosking, said the site has also been updated with an emphasis on making the news even more accessible and easier to read.
'Page layouts have been changed to enhance the user experience and, by updating to a horizontal tab menu, we have freed up the pages for more news.

'The content of iTWire always starts against the left margin on every page, which makes it easier for readers to move from article to article without having to ‘hunt' for the headline or the first sentence. In addition, related news and the latest news are positioned on the page so the next article is always within easy reach.

'We have also added an AJAX powered tool kit to the far right column of every page so that it's now faster to search iTWire using the familiar Google layout, use iTWire's own advanced search, or search for jobs or login as a registered user,- Hosking added.
