Chunk has just launched Scottish and Newcastle UK’s (S&N UK) Insight and Customer Excellence document portal July 12, 2006; 08:45 AM The website
provides S&N UK employees with an easily searchable web interface
to deliver the Insight and Customer Excellence research team’s data.
Chunk MD, Donnie Kerrigan said; “Scottish and Newcastle put a lot
of resources into ensuring they have the right insight into their
customers’ needs, so as well as making the data as accessible as
possible we’ve made sure that the ICE team can track document usage to
see where their investment is most effective.”
The portal makes use of Atlas; Microsoft’s implementation of AJAX
technology. Brian McHarg, Chunk’s Technical Director said; “It’s an
early adoption of the technology, but it’s ability to handle a lot of
database interaction without constantly refreshing the page meant it
was the right choice for sales people who might be connecting to the
site through 3G”
The site replaces an existing Lotus Notes database with a friendlier, more comprehensive system.
