ICONIX, Inc., a leading provider of visual email identification solutions, today announced that its Truemark email identification service now supports the latest AJAX-based webmail clients, including the new beta versions of Yahoo! Mail and Windows Live Mail, as well as the latest browser releases Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0. With these additions, the Truemark service now supports over 90 percent of consumer webmail users.

Users who adopt these new leading-edge webmail platforms can now take advantage of the same email identification service that ICONIX has been offering for MSN Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, and Earthlink. Users can download a simple plug-in from www.iconix.com, www.download.com, or any of ICONIX’s partners’ web sites. The plug-in examines incoming messages and authenticates the sender using standards-based email authentication technology, such as Domain Keys and Sender ID. Once the message is verified, the sender is checked against a list of senders registered with ICONIX and a Truemark icon is added to the authenticated message for easy identification.

“Email users continue to struggle to sift through an ever-rising tide of email,” said Jeff Wilbur, vice president of marketing. “With the addition of these next-generation webmail services, ICONIX now supports more than 90 percent of consumer webmail users, making it easy to sort legitimate mail from phishing and spam using our intuitive, easy-to-identify Truemark icon. These days it’s especially important to provide a consistent experience across multiple email services since most users have two or more email addresses. The Truemark icon not only makes it easy for users to find what they want, regardless of email client, but also helps them know what’s real so they don’t open fake messages.”

With the new releases, ICONIX is tracking the leading edge beta technology of Yahoo! Mail and Windows Live Mail, and providing support for the latest browser releases – Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0 – which complement current support for Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox 1.5. Adding these new email services will prove a boon for senders of email and their customers who are seeking to maintain trusted contact with each other. Recent studies show that users are more than twice as likely to open email messages marked with a Truemark icon since users can confidently open and act upon trusted messages. The Truemark service currently identifies email messages from more than 350 senders, representing leaders in online retail, financial institutions, auctions, travel, dating, social networks, and information/news services. Recent notable additions to the list of senders include Wells Fargo Bank, YouTube, Apple iTunes, ESPN, ABC, Disney Online, NFL.com, CareerBuilder.com, and Eons.

Support for the new Webmail services and Internet Explorer 7 is available now. Firefox 2.0 support will be available during January 2007. The software plug-in for the Truemark service that supports these new webmail programs is available at www.iconix.com.
