California based Pandesa Corporation announced version 2.0 of Pandesa ShareSpace, the company’s on-demand business content sharing service.

Pandesa’s ShareSpace offering is a Web-based content sharing platform with an enterprise-grade full-text search capability. Collaborating teams can share, store, find and reuse business documents in the ShareSpace. Pandesa customers are able to quickly set up and configure ShareSpaces for a variety of applications, including document management, document control, content repositories, media libraries, knowledge bases, digital asset management, patent libraries and clinical data capture.

Users can sign up for a free ShareSpace at www.pandesa.com and be up-and-running in minutes. The new release introduces a host of rich Web 2.0 features, previously not available to business users.

"Our design objective was to dramatically improve the content search and browse experience available to businesses. We've incorporated state-of-the-art AJAX technology to deliver a rich, interactive user experience similar to what consumers have come to expect from the latest photo sharing sites," said John Badger, Pandesa's vice president of sales and marketing.

AJAX, meaning Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, is a software technology that advanced consumer-oriented Web sites have used to provide a rich user experience. For example, search results are displayed with thumbnail preview images showing the first page of each document, allowing users to browse content visually. The thumbnails are zoom-able; users mouse-over an image to instantly magnify and reveal more detail. This feature enables users to rapidly peruse a list of search results in order to quickly locate content. The zoom-able thumbnail feature is available for more than 300 file types including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project as well as AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and many other business-oriented file formats.

Foster Enterprises, a real estate development firm in Redwood City, California, is using its Pandesa ShareSpace to collaborate across several of its development projects so that principals and project managers can share documents with sub-contractors, clients, consultants, local governments and other project stake holders. Dan Jones, project manager, explains that "Pandesa has proven to be a simple, effective and easy-to-use data management solution which gives us the capabilities of sharing an entire office full of files with outside associates, who would normally have little or no effective means of accessing important project information on their own. The interface is straightforward, and anyone who is even remotely computer-literate will be able to use this product easily. We now have the ability to access useful project files anytime on any computer with an Internet connection."
