Japanese internet companies FUSION GOL and StartForce announced the release of the StartForce API (Application Program Interface) to the public. StartForce is a Web 2.0 based application developed by StartForce, Inc. built using cutting-edge AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) technologies  and a "Web-based Desktop" concept.  The API complements existing online storage and file sharing tools by StartForce, and will be offered to customers of FUSION GOL's ISP service.

Following the deployment of the alpha release on May 11, 2006, new file management functionality has been put into place. In addition to standard online file storage and sharing functions, file sharing among non-users has been also enabled through the implementation of Web 2.0 technology.

With the launch of the API, StartForce said it now has set its foot in building a full-stack framework for developing Web 2.0 applications, and forming a community for Web 2.0 application developers to connect with each other, exchange creative ideas, and publish their projects to all StartForce users.

With consistent and self-explanatory interface naming conventions and advanced modularization, the StartForce API is simple to learn, use, and maintain. Moreover, StartForce provides a set of comprehensive instructions which can get developers up to speed in no time. Other important features include a real-time debugging platform and customizable GUI components (pop-up menus, drop-down menus, directory trees, etc).
