Yahoo! Developer Network released an update to the Yahoo! User Interface (YUI) JavaScript Library.  V.0.11 comes with important additions in terms of functionality, optimized code, and a number of minor enhancements.

The YUI Logger Control.

The most important feature of the new YUI Library is the inclusion of a Logger Control.  The Logger Control provides developers with the ability to read or write log messages with a single line of code.  Even-driven messaging will allow developers to get a complete picture of the inner workings of any YUI Library component.

The list of new features continues with the addition of improved color animation cabalities, better drag and drop performace, new file upload functionality, and more.  New YUI cheatsheets have also been added to the collection of related resources.

YUI Library and documentation files are available for download under the BSD license at developer.yahoo.com/yui/.  The official blog is located at yuiblog.com/.

YUI Library was released earlier this year as an open source tool for creating industrial-grade web interfaces and rich internet applications.  It was complemented by the Yahoo! Design Pattern Library, which contains the solutions to various interface-building scenarios. Yahoo's new "beta" homepage was built using the two utilities.
