Topaz Hotel Services, a provider of voice and electronic hotel
reservation systems and online services to the lodging industry, announced the release of its new BookAbility III web booking system.
Using
Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) web development technique, the
release of BookAbility III means guest search for hotel availability is
faster and presents a smoother user experience, according to the
company.
It added that eliminating page reloads that can take
up to 20 seconds, it streamlines the booking process insuring capture
of online revenue. “This new solution offers the hotel site user a more
elegant experience. The new system enables an integrated inventory
display in more website locations and a more compact presentation of
the hotels’ packages, available rooms and rates.”
“The days of
the term ‘booking engine’ are gone. Our new BookAbility III enables
hoteliers to integrate booking functionality into their entire
website,” said Eric Gustavson, president.
Jackson Thompson,
director of Information Technology, said, “Our new system integrates
BookAbility throughout a hotel website instead of adding BookAbility to
a site. Google and Yahoo have made AJAX popular. The Google Maps
application is one of the best known AJAX examples, and another element
we integrate availability information into.”
The company added
that in addition to reducing load time and smoothing the user
experience, hotel website architects and designers can embed components
of BookAbility III in various pages on the site.
“BookAbility
III means more bookings online by streamlining the user experience and
the booking process. It can put inventory on every page in a unique
way,” stated a release.
“With tens of thousand of dollars
being spent on website design aimed at a smooth user experience, long
delays while the booking engine is “Loading, Loading, Loading…” are no
longer acceptable. With speed and flexibility, the fully integrated
BookAbility III converts lookers into bookers from any page of the
hotel website.”
