Imulus, a design and interactive agency, announced the
launch of Boulder based oolongtees.com, a website of wearable art
produced by artists from around the world. Each design is produced in
limited quantity and screened on super soft t-shirts available in a
variety of fashion forward styles and colors. Oolong currently features
the work of 8 artists who will add new designs regularly to ensure the
site and the shirts stay fresh.
"The website uses Ajax programming to make the
shopping cart experience intuitive and clean," states George Morris,
Imulus Client Services Manager.
In the age of mass-produced, cookie cutter fashion, the idea that a
company can make an original high quality product, support the artistic
community and maintain a healthy bottom line might seem like an
impossible dream. But that is exactly what motivated Patrick Kadel,
Founder of Oolong Tees.
"I wanted to elevate the type of shirt I was seeing out there on the
street," says Kadel. "There is so much talent in our artistic
communities, I wanted to give consumers a unique product and help these
artists continue to do what they do best, create. And to do that I
needed a technology partner who would understand and share my vision."
Imulus proved a perfect fit.
Oolong Tees started receiving orders within hours of going live. "We
have had great grass roots support from the art community," Kadel
stated. Artists benefit by receiving free mention on the Oolong Tees
website, as well as a commission when their shirts sell.
