Exadel Inc. announced that it has been named to the fourth annual SD Times 100 in the Rich Client category. This ranking distinguishes Exadel as one of the leading companies in the software development industry.

"The winners of this year's SD Times 100 awards have demonstrated their leadership in shaping the software development industry," said David Rubinstein, Editor-in-Chief of SD Times. "We took into account each nominee's products and services, its reputation among development managers, and the new ideas it brought out. These select individuals and organizations are the ones we've identified as helping to move the art of development forward."

Compiled annually, the final list of the SD Times 100 sets the industry leaders apart from the market followers. This award recognizes companies, organizations and influencers that most broadly set the agenda for the software development industry through innovation within certain categories. Exadel was a winner in the Rich Client category, for pioneering the use of AJAX. Exadel began offering its AJAX-savvy Web application building tools in 2005.

This achievement is a part of a banner year for Exadel. In January 2006, Exadel launched the latest version of its popular Eclipse-based IDE, Exadel Studio Pro 3.5. The new offering featured support for AJAX, Struts, JSF RI, MyFaces, Spring and Hibernate, allowing organizations to better prepare and plan for critical Web 2.0 applications. In March, Exadel announced its proposal to the Eclipse Foundation for an Enterprise Component Framework project, establishing an end-to-end business application development platform based on Eclipse and giving enterprise application development teams an unprecedented level of flexibility to build business applications.

Also in March, Exadel announced the launch and general availability of the Exadel Visual Component Platform, a powerful new JSF-based framework for the development of AJAX-enabled business applications.

“We are very pleased to be recognized in the SD Times 100 for 2006,” said Fima Katz, CEO of Exadel. “This is a clear reflection of Exadel’s commitment to providing unmatched expertise to the software development industry. We look forward to sustaining this leadership role and continuing to develop innovative, fast, scalable and cost-effective solutions.”
