Unobtrusive JavaScript Sidenotes for Your Website

Arc90 lab released Unobtrusive Sidenotes -- a simple mix of Javascript and CSS that makes it easy to incorporate sidenotes into web pages or blogs. It includes a set of colors (all set in CSS and customizable) to create the correlation between the sidenote and the relevant text.

The script is easy to install, following the 5 steps detailed on the author's site at http://lab.arc90.com/2006/05/unobtrusive_sidenotes.php .  The Unobtrusive Sidenotes script is freely available for download and use under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 license.

Currently, the Unobtrusive Sidenotes script has been tested and confirmed on the following browsers:

• Internet Explorer 6.0+
• Mozilla Firefox 1.5+
• Apple Safari 2.0
• Opera Version 8.51
