Ajax-powered Snap: "The Different Way to Search"

A new website offers visitors a new search experience, that differs somewhat from the paradigm and makes full use of Ajax technology.   It differs from major search sites by providing more information about the listed search results.

Here is how it works.  The search form on Snap's front page features auto-complete functionality, in the style of “Google suggest”.  The relevancy of a search keyword is determined by the behaviour of Snap.com's visitors.

After you select a search keyword, Snap displys the list of site matches for your search term on the left, and on the right, a preview panel shows a cached image of the site you’ve selected (not a very recent image, though). Clicking on the cached image loads the updated site inside the panel, or in a new browser window.

Overall, Snap is a well-implemented original concept.  Whether is becomes popular, is up to the hard to predict conduct of the netizen community.
