Yahoo Launches Redesigned Webpage

Yahoo's new home page, previously in private testing, is now available at yahoo.com/preview.  It supports Internet Explorer 6+ and Mozilla Firefox 1.5+.

Major changes include a “personal assistant” - preview area to see new emails, an online buddy list from Yahoo IM and other information (traffic, weather, etc.).

There are a number of minor changes, including a wider page layout, a bigger search bar, Ajax interactivity (mouse over “mail” in the right sidebar, for example). More information is available on the Yahoo Search Blog at http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/000304.html .

The site also features a witty promotional video with Yahoo founders David Filo and Jerry Yang.
