Upcoming Ajax-enabled operating system AjaxOS was first presented at the 4th Annual Desktop Linux Summit, which took place in San Diego at the end of April. AjaXOS is a Linspire-based operating system, currently being developed by AjaxLauch - creators of popular AJAX web applications for viewing and editing text documents, spreadsheets, and various other file types, including video.

The sneak peak presentation by AjaxOS creator Michael Robertson in Real format is available at the AjaxLaunch website ( http://www.ajaxlaunch.com ). He starts by showcasing the AjaxLaunch web applications, before moving on to AjaxOS.

The major features of the upcoming operating system are automatic launch of AJAX web software when clicking on a supported file type, ability to save files to virtual storage, and ability to navigate through files uploaded to virtual storage as well those on your local computer.

The focus of AjaxOS is providing information security by saving files on AjaxOS remote storage, inclusion of free web-based applications, automatic upgrades, and full file compatibility.

AjaxOS is slated for release in the following weeks.
