Eribium: the RoR-AJAX Content Management System
JavaScriptSearch A new content management system, built with Ruby on Rails and popular JavaScript libraries, has been declared alpha and is now available for download at http://www.eribium.org. It uses programming languages, typically not associated with CMSs; but this is not the only unusual thing about Eribium. The show-stealer is the fact that a 16 year old with little programming experience was able to use Ruby on Rails and create a working CMS in a relatively short time. The dedicated webpage offers a working demo of the Eribium, and even at this early stage of development it works well and it feels well, too. The demo includes tagging capabilities, various presentation templates, syndication, spell checker, and a myriad of features one would expect to see in a simple CMS or blogging platform. The alpha version archive is 1.3 MB. It includes instructions for installation. When complete, Eribium will be released under MIT license.
