Mr. Shulman will present a technical session called Defeating Web 2.0 Attacks without Recoding Applications. He will discuss how Web 2.0 applications and the use of AJAX have spawned two wily new attack methods called Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF) and JavaScript Hijacking (JS-Hijacking). CSRF and JS-Hijacking are extremely difficult to detect and defeat because they generate traffic that is virtually indistinguishable from legitimate application streams. This presentation will explain how CSRF and JS-Hijacking work, provide live attack demonstrations, and unveil a new methodology that provides effective risk mitigation without application recoding.
