Open Source Live! Solves Java Training Problem with Weekend Seminar

November 9, 2007; 05:30 AM

Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) November 9, 2007 -- Open Source Live! (OSL), a fast reaction training company, is delivering seminar for Java software developers who want quick, effective hands-on training and experience with the latest open source tools. The event occurs over the weekend of Nov. 16 - 18, 2007 in Portland, Oregon. Java experts on several sought-after tools for Java-related software development projects will deliver hands-on instruction to a limited group of registrants. The seminar is entitled Developing Lightweight Enterprise Java Applications.

"There are many mature and highly innovative open source software development tools at our disposal," said OSL Founder P. Vilas Tulachan. "But these tools often lack corporate-like support, especially hands-on training that enables developers to quickly learn how to use them. Our hands-on seminar fills this vacuum with a potent solution by supplanting lectures with hands-on exercises and pragmatic experience."

The result, says Tulachan, "is the ability to return to work and take immediate advantage of the new tools for the benefit of employer or client. The real value is that software developed with these tools improves security and efficiency while adding robust features not otherwise available."

Unlike other Java conferences that focus on fifty minute lectures with a question/answer segment to an otherwise passive audience, OSL actually transfers programming skills to a limited number of students, through eight hours of lecture, hands-on exercises and practice under mentor guidance.

The Portland seminar is centered on hot Java-related tools, including Ajax, JSF, Hibernate 3, Spring 2, Struts 2, JSP and JBoss RichFaces. Each tool plays a key role in software development, and proper use results in highly interactive, scalable and robust web applications that enhance user experiences with information delivery, security and e-commerce. Author/Instructors are experts and working developers. They include Sang Shin, a Java Evangelist from SUN Microsystems and Max Katz, Sr. Software Engineer from Exadel. Complete details on the November event and the instructors may be found at http://opensourcelive.com/Portland .

The seminar is priced at only $1095 and the attendee can bring a buddy for only $250 until Nov. 11. Prospective students are encouraged to review the course offering at http://opensourcelive.com/Portland . Open Source Live! has delivered seminars in other locations where local developers may be attracted to the weekend structure and expert delivery method. Due to small class size, seating is limited so register now and guarantee your seat.
