Basel, Switzerland and Newport Beach, California – November 5, 2007
Day
Software (SWX: DAYN, OTCQX: DYIHY), a leading provider of global
content management and content infrastructure software, today announced
general availability of its new Web 2.0 collaboration solution. Part of
Day’s Communiqué family of products, Communiqué Advanced Collaboration
(CQ AC) offers wiki, blog, and calendar functionality.
Providing
centralized management for social media and essential metadata
information, CQ AC enables connectivity to social computing, social
networking and user participation. By providing efficient management
through a central repository for all departments in the enterprise, CQ
AC extends the value of rich media. The product also leverages Web 2.0
design features, such as an AJAX user interface, making ease-of-use a
key benefit.
“Today, companies face significant challenges in
managing new social content, in addition to the content that already
resides in information silos across their organizations,” said David
Nuescheler, CTO of Day. “Day’s new collaboration solution connects
companies with the people that posses relevant information and
feedback, enabling businesses to streamline management of their social
media, while delivering the brand control and consistency required by
our blue-chip customers.”
Fully integrated with Day’s CQ Web
Content Management, CQ AC leverages the Java Content Repository (JCR)
industry standard for content access, JSR 170, making it the only
native JCR standard-compliant solution available. In addition, CQ AC
allows companies to move from information to participation, all within
the context of an online platform used to share opinions, insights,
experiences and perspectives. CQ AC Wiki offers easy editing via
standard wiki syntax, version history and comparison and email
notification for content changes. Material created within the wiki is
immediately indexed and available for full-text search. CQ AC Blog
provides easy creation of blogs and posts, a rich text editor for
content editing and RSS support. CQ AC Calendar allows users to create
event schedules, different views for time-based events, including
calendar view and display of multiple event hierarchies.
Key Features
CQ AC Wiki
Editing
- Wiki content is created through an intuitive browser-based editor
using a rich text editor and/or standard wiki syntax. Content is
grouped in different spaces and can be organized in hierarchies.
Attachments and images can easily be added to any page.
History
- All wiki content is consistently versioned. All versions are easily
accessible through the user interface. Version comparison allows easy
tracking of content changes.
Search - Content
created within the wiki is immediately indexed and available for
full-text search. The search can be restricted to a specific set of
wiki content.
Notification - Users can subscribe
for notifications about changes in the wiki content. Notifications can
be related with a complete space of the wiki or with specific content
hierarchies within a space.
Users/Permissions -
Users and groups are maintained within the CRX repository. Permissions
throughout the entire site are defined in the repository.
Administration
- CQ Wiki can be adapted to specific needs. The look and feel of the
wiki can be changed by editing the site layout or adding theme packs.
Extensibility through plug-ins allows system customization.
CQ AC Blog
Blogs
- CQ WCMS functionality is used to maintain blogs. A new blog is added
by creating a page with the appropriate template. By publishing this
page, the blog is made available.
Posts and Comments
- New posts can easily be added to a blog. A rich text editor is
provided for editing. Activating a post makes it available. Comments
can easily be added to any post.
Search - All blog content is indexed and available for full-text search.

placed on one page. Events can be structured hierarchically.
