ACCESS Develops New Server Solution, NetFront Transcoder

ACCESS CO., LTD., a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile and beyond-PC markets, today announced NetFront(TM) Transcoder, a new Web-to-mobile content adaptation server technology that enables end users to browse any Web site from any mobile device. NetFront Transcoder, based on ACCESS' award-winning NetFront(TM) Browser engine for mobile handsets and information appliances, will be marketed worldwide.

The full-featured NetFront Transcoder uses the browser engine to parse and render Web content, analyze its structure and ascertain its layout for mobile use. Because NetFront Transcoder can also interpret JavaScript(R), CSS and Flash(TM) -- which are difficult to process with conventional systems that recognize and adapt HTML as text strings -- it allows for real-time adaptation of rich Web content for PCs. Moreover, by taking into account different screen sizes, supported capabilities and memory capacities, NetFront Transcoder can optimize content for each individual device. A simple editing tool makes it easy to customize content for mobile sites after automatic conversion.
