Aleier Adds New Condition-Based Maintenance Capabilities in Its FM1j interpriseTM Enterprise Asset Management System

October 16, 2007; 04:54 AM

PLANO, Texas--Enterprise asset management leader Aleier, Inc. (a subsidiary of RF Monolithics, Inc. (RFM) (NASDAQ:RFMI)) today announced the release of Version 6.2 of its flagship FM1j interprise Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system. Todays release includes key enhancements to utilize equipment operating data to implement condition-based maintenance in machine-to-machine (M2M) applications and to streamline the management of work requests and workorders. This latest software upgrade comes just one year after Aleier was acquired by wireless communications leader RFM, an industry leader in M2M enabling technologies.

The confluence of regulatory pressures for energy conservation and reporting, along with rapidly emerging technologies like wireless sensor networking put incredible pressures upon asset, building and factory managers to improve asset management and maintenance management, said Bill Caver, president of Aleier. Version 6.2 of FM1j interprise addresses those pressures and greatly helps our customers fully manage and maintain all their capital assets across their entire life-cycles throughout the enterprise.

This upgrade release adds the following major capabilities to FM1j interprise:

  • Enhanced Condition-Based Maintenance FM1j interprise can now receive readings from multiple sensors for an asset in M2M or wireless sensor applications. Those readings are analyzed when received using a configurable set of rules, and FM1j interprise can respond to trigger conditions by generating alerts, creating work orders, and sending control instructions to actuators. FM1j interprise displays recent condition readings in a graph. When interfaced to other systems, the data can also be used for regulatory reporting, devising condition indices for capital planning, and financial management.
  • Streamlined Workflow Management FM1j interprise V6.2 provides an easier method for managing work requests and workorders that makes processing multiple workorders faster and simpler. The improved user interface uses AJAX technology to present more information on a single screen, allow operations of multiple items concurrently, and quickly progress work requests and workorders through the clients specific workflow.
  • Improved Materials Management The new release significantly improves the FM1j interprise material and inventory management capabilities by adding more powerful functionality while also simplifying the materials management processes.

This latest release of FM1j interprise also incorporates a wide range of user suggestions to improve functionality and usability throughout the application.

FM1j interprise is the Aleier flagship Enterprise Asset Management application designed to serve the asset and maintenance management needs of the largest, most sophisticated multi-site organizations. It is a web-architected application designed to operate in a modern web services environment, and provides a full set of EAM functions, including asset accounting, maintenance management, inventory and warehouse management, and human resource management. FM1j interprise includes FM1 Bridge, which is designed to ease FM1js integration with a broad range of common enterprise applications, including accounting and financial applications, human resource systems, ERP applications and automation systems. FM1j interprise runs on common enterprise system software, including the Oracle Database and Application Server.

The new release of FM1j interprise is available immediately to all existing customers of the product who have active maintenance contracts. FM1j interprise was launched in 2002 and has been continuously upgraded since its introduction. Current customers of FM1j interprise include the Department of Defense, a number of state, county and municipal government institutions, and higher education institutions. A detailed synopsis of the new release is available for customers to download on the Aleier web site at www.aleier.com.
