Vancouver, B.C. -September 6, 2007 - Strangeloop Networks ™ Inc., creator of the first network appliance for accelerating dynamic web applications based on Microsoft’s ASP.NET framework, today announced the appointment of Xavier Wiechers to the position of vice president of software development and of Lee Purvis to vice president of operations.

Wiechers will manage the overall product development effort for the Strangeloop AppScaler appliance. As lead for the development team at Strangeloop, he will guide the design and implementation of new ASP.NET performance features. Wiechers will also oversee all aspects of quality control.

Wiechers brings over 20 years experience in software product development to Strangeloop. Responsible for all aspects of software development, from architecture to design and implementation, Wiechers has delivered complex, feature rich applications with thousands of concurrent users on the Microsoft .NET platform. From this experience, he gained significant depth in the performance and scaling challenges of ASP.NET based applications. Wiechers most recently served as vice president of product development at Metafos, Inc., a manufacturer of a highly secure online payment system, where he was responsible for leading the product development and quality assurance groups. Prior to that, Wiechers was director of software engineering at Pivotal Corporation (recently acquired by CDC software) where he oversaw the development of their CRM platform. At Chancery Software Ltd., Wiechers served as director of product development. He holds an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems Technology from Kwantlen University College in Vancouver, British Columbia.

“Xavier has extensive experience in managing the architecture and design of enterprise level solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies,” said Jonathan Bixby, CEO of Strangeloop.

"His design and development management expertise, combined with his deep understanding of scaling ASP.NET applications will play a vital role in furthering Strangeloop’s success."

To position Strangeloop for growth, Lee Purvis is taking on the role of vice president of operations. Purvis will focus on providing operational oversight and positioning Strangeloop for a rapid increase in sales. Purvis will also be responsible for providing world-class service and support to Strangeloop’s customers. In addition, he will develop and oversee Strangeloop’s community technology preview (CTP) and customer evaluation programs, giving Strangeloop customers early access to ASP.NET application performance improvements and incorporating real-world feedback into the product design.

Purvis is a 20 year veteran of the high-tech industry with significant achievements in all areas of company operations including executive management, project management, process improvement, quality systems, IT infrastructure, software development and system architecture. He is a leading expert on the software development process and on ASP.NET and database technologies and played a key role in the creation and development of the Strangeloop AppScaler appliance. Prior to joining Strangeloop, Purvis spent three years with IronPoint Technology as the vice president of operations, where he helped guide the company through high growth, from early-stage startup to acquisition in 2006.

Previously, Purvis was CEO of Discovery Software, a full-service software development and consulting company. In his role as CEO, Purvis had executive responsibility for all aspects of project execution and delivery with a critical focus on client relations. Purvis also served as chief technical officer for both eduVoice Technologies and Sportica Internet Technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in management from the University of Phoenix.

“Lee brings to Strangeloop a wealth of experience delivering and supporting complex enterprise systems software and managing large distributed teams,” said Jonathan Bixby. “This, combined with his extensive ASP.NET expertise, makes Lee the right choice to lead our operations team into the future.”
