Vancouver, B.C. -September 6, 2007 - Strangeloop Networks ™ Inc.,
creator of the first network appliance for accelerating dynamic web
applications based on Microsoft’s ASP.NET framework, today announced
the appointment of Xavier Wiechers to the position of vice president of
software development and of Lee Purvis to vice president of operations.
Wiechers
will manage the overall product development effort for the Strangeloop
AppScaler appliance. As lead for the development team at Strangeloop,
he will guide the design and implementation of new ASP.NET performance
features. Wiechers will also oversee all aspects of quality control.
Wiechers
brings over 20 years experience in software product development to
Strangeloop. Responsible for all aspects of software development, from
architecture to design and implementation, Wiechers has delivered
complex, feature rich applications with thousands of concurrent users
on the Microsoft .NET platform. From this experience, he gained
significant depth in the performance and scaling challenges of ASP.NET
based applications. Wiechers most recently served as vice president of
product development at Metafos, Inc., a manufacturer of a highly secure
online payment system, where he was responsible for leading the product
development and quality assurance groups. Prior to that, Wiechers was
director of software engineering at Pivotal Corporation (recently
acquired by CDC software) where he oversaw the development of their CRM
platform. At Chancery Software Ltd., Wiechers served as director of
product development. He holds an Associate’s degree in Computer
Information Systems Technology from Kwantlen University College in
Vancouver, British Columbia.

To
position Strangeloop for growth, Lee Purvis is taking on the role of
vice president of operations. Purvis will focus on providing
operational oversight and positioning Strangeloop for a rapid increase
in sales. Purvis will also be responsible for providing world-class
service and support to Strangeloop’s customers. In addition, he will
develop and oversee Strangeloop’s community technology preview (CTP)
and customer evaluation programs, giving Strangeloop customers early
access to ASP.NET application performance improvements and
incorporating real-world feedback into the product design.
Purvis
is a 20 year veteran of the high-tech industry with significant
achievements in all areas of company operations including executive
management, project management, process improvement, quality systems,
IT infrastructure, software development and system architecture. He is
a leading expert on the software development process and on ASP.NET and
database technologies and played a key role in the creation and
development of the Strangeloop AppScaler appliance. Prior to joining
Strangeloop, Purvis spent three years with IronPoint Technology as the
vice president of operations, where he helped guide the company through
high growth, from early-stage startup to acquisition in 2006.
Previously,
Purvis was CEO of Discovery Software, a full-service software
development and consulting company. In his role as CEO, Purvis had
executive responsibility for all aspects of project execution and
delivery with a critical focus on client relations. Purvis also served
as chief technical officer for both eduVoice Technologies and Sportica
Internet Technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in management
from the University of Phoenix.
