KnowledgeTree Continues Momentum With Major Customer Wins And Industry Recognition

August 3, 2007; 08:34 AM
KnowledgeTreeTM, the world's leading Open Source document management system for small to medium-sized organizations and departmental users, today announced that Decathlon Stores, GlaxoSmithKline, the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and DHL Global Mail have joined a growing list of companies that have chosen KnowledgeTree to solve their document management challenges. KnowledgeTree has also been listed on the Optaros Enterprise Open Source Directory, a listing of leading enterprise-ready open source applications.

KnowledgeTree, commercialized just over a year ago, has seen this summer's customer wins underscored by the product's significant community growth, with 25,000 registered community members, 380,000 open source software downloads and 66 community-run projects.

"KnowledgeTree's growth is an indication of how keen SMB and departmental users are to move away from proprietary solutions that are more costly and limit the user's freedom to extend and innovate. Being open source, KnowledgeTree allows our customers to de-risk their document management investment, installing the application for free, and focusing on the important organizational challenges around new enterprise systems prior to purchasing the software," said KnowledgeTree COO Daniel Chalef.

KnowledgeTree recently joined 260 other enterprise-grade open source applications on the Optaros Enterprise Open Source Directory. KnowledgeTree's selection out of 140000 open source applications is significant industry recognition of its position as the leading open source provider of document management solutions to SMB and departmental users.

KnowledgeTree, sold on an annual subscription basis, has thus far seen a one hundred percent return rate from early adopter subscribers, a clear endorsement of the value that the open source document management system creates for its customers.

"KnowledgeTree provides us with an easy to use, feature rich and very stable document management system. We're in our second year of using the product and very happy," said Rick Schulze, Director of Information Technology, Kontron America.

Other notable KnowledgeTree customer acquisitions this summer include the Bank of Scotland, the Maldives Airport Company, Goodrich Corporation, the Sandwell Mental Health NHS & Social Care Trust, the Family Early Intervention Program and nTag Interactive.

The new customers join KnowledgeTree's impressive list of clients, which include the Société Générale Group, the State of Georgia Department of Audits, the European Space Agency, Northern Arizona Healthcare, Mazda Motor Europe, Wood Mackenzie, Black Duck Software, Kontron America, and the McGill University Pharmacogenomics Center.
