Revolutionary Web 2.0 Next Generation Software Platform Now Available

GraphLogic announced today the launch of PointDragon, www.pointdragon.com, a revolutionary Web 2.0 next generation software platform. PointDragon is the first ever commercially available 100% web-based environment that can be used to build all aspects of complex, enterprise systems. Rich web interfaces, complex programming logic, and large scale schemas and databases are created seamlessly within PointDragon’s browser interface. PointDragon implements a novel high-level object oriented visual programming environment ideally suited to the internet. Applications can be developed collaboratively over the web, without the need to download any code or software at any point in the process.

PointDragon has been used to create a full spectrum of web-based applications, ranging from simple Message Boards to complex and intricate scientific applications. PointDragon’s visual environment is powered by a paradigm shifting, breakthrough architecture – the Object Process Graph (OPG). OPGs are general purpose executable graphs that incorporate every aspect of an application: process, user interface, and database. No traditional code is generated from or by the OPGs because they are directly interpreted; they are the code.

No additional programming language, tool, or database is required to build or run an application. PointDragon provides a complete environment. PointDragon is capable of the same functionality offered by traditional programming languages and tools such as Java, AJAX, and Oracle. In addition, PointDragon can transparently interface with relational databases, and web services can be used to interface to and from all PointDragon applications. PointDragon can also interface with legacy systems and databases through industry standard protocols.

While PointDragon is ideally suited to creating mashups, the focus of some emerging on-demand environments, it offers far more capability. Everything needed to create enterprise scale commercial systems can be done within PointDragon; there is no need for third party software or other web services. The core PointDragon technology has been in development for four years and in production systems for the last two. Accordingly, the PointDragon platform contains established, robust features that one would expect from mature traditional development and runtime environments including change control, extensive security and administration features, a fully integrated automated testing environment, and transaction and database management.

Moreover, PointDragon was designed from the ground up to be a unified platform that fuses every aspect of application development and run-time management. Whereas other platforms are often cobbled together from a hodgepodge of disparate systems – created by different companies and then integrated after the fact – PointDragon is a seamlessly integrated platform.
