Email Marketing Service Constant Contact Surpasses 100,000 Customer Mark; Announces Record Year of Growth

With its strong 2006 results, Constant Contact further expanded its industry leadership position and market share.

2006 highlights include:

  • Total revenue reached a record $27.5 million an 88 percent increase year over year
  • 2006 total customer count grew 85 percent year over year
  • Employee count grew 70 percent year over year Constant Contact now employs more than 230 people

100,000th customer awarded free email account for life

To honor its 100,000th customer, Constant Contact awarded Rooney Landscaping, Inc., a landscaping company based in Rolling Meadows, IL, a free email marketing account for life. Rooney Landscaping will also receive a free custom template to help them promote their newly launched year-round landscaping services.

Constant Contact launches new user interface and email wizard

The next evolution of Constant Contacts award-winning email marketing product helps small businesses and organizations communicate with their customers and members faster and easier. With a revamped, Ajax-based user interface and email creation environment, Constant Contact improves the user experience and reduces the time and effort needed for email creation. The new email wizard also helps small businesses and organizations reach out to their audiences with more personalized, relevant communications while the updated navigation and look-and-feel make finding the tools they need to succeed more intuitive and organized.

Create, edit, and preview emails on one screen

The new WYSIWYG HTML interface enables users to instantly edit and add text, multiple images, links, and sections all on one screen.

Personalize any section or image

With their contact list integrated within the email creation tool, users can now insert personalized contact data (company name, state, etc.) in any section with one click.

Move, edit, and restore sections with one click

Flexible one-screen editing features new drag and drop functionality, helping users effortlessly move articles where they want. In addition, new one-click undo & redo makes it quick and easy to edit, delete, or restore sections.

Access and update HTML code with ease

Advanced users can now simultaneously view a campaign while updating the HTML code with code view.

2006 marks banner year for company growth

In addition to significant revenue and customer growth, 2006 included many noteworthy developments across the company, including:

ConnectUp!sm - Launched in September 2006, ConnectUp!, Constant Contacts user community, brings together thousands of small business owners and entrepreneurs who help each other solve real business problems, as well as share and gain insights on marketing and other topics of interest. To date, more than 8,000 members have joined ConnectUp!.

Partner Programs - In 2006, the Constant Contact Franchise Program grew more than 400 percent. More than 5,000 franchisees now have access to Constant Contacts email marketing tools to help them reach customers and grow their businesses. In addition, the Constant Contact Business Partner Program included more than 2,500 partners in 2006, a 143 percent year-over-year growth.

Cares4Kids The Constant Contact Cares4Kids Program has now helped more than 150 organizations build awareness of their missions. This program allows Constant Contact customers to donate a free email marketing account to nonprofits that help children through social and educational programs.
