Volantis Announces GetBuzz Partner Program to Expand Availability of its Personalized News and Entertainment Application

Enables Unique Subscriber UI Solutions and Broader Systems Support for BuzzCast™ Carrier Deployments

November 29, 2006; 02:43 AM
Volantis, the world’s leading supplier of Intelligent Content Adaptation™ solutions for the Mobile Information Age, today announced the launch of its GetBuzz™ Partner Program. The partner initiative follows the successful launch earlier this month of BuzzCast™, Volantis’ newest addition to its Suite of Mobile Content Applications™. The company also announced that Cibenix, based in Ireland, and MSX Inc., based in the US, have joined the partnership, providing client solutions to provide enhanced BuzzCast functionality on a broad selection of mobile devices.

BuzzCast provides consumers with dynamic mobile “home screens” for greater context, immediacy, and personalization. BuzzCast pushes compelling information, such as financial news, sports and entertainment headlines, to any device - regardless of network or device type - personalized according to the unique preferences of each subscriber. GetBuzz™ enables Volantis technology partners to offer carriers compelling presentation of subscriber-preference content directly on the mobile device, based on each partner’s unique user interface (UI) client solution. BuzzCast supports the creation of subscriber UIs in a range of technologies supported by Volantis’ partners to suit each carrier’s device strategy, including support for AJAX, RSS Client, Flash, J2ME, BREW, Microsoft Mobile and native Symbian.

Volantis solutions providers - including systems integrators and network infrastructure companies - will be able to apply the new application leveraging the Volantis Mobile Content Framework™, the mobile industry’s most broadly deployed mobile content delivery platform.

“We are delighted to be part of the GetBuzz Partner Program,” said Michael Brady, Chief Operating Officer of Cibenix. “The powerful combination of the Cibenix On-Device Portal (ODP) solution and Volantis’ BuzzCast enables carriers to create a very compelling subscriber experience on the mobile device, and in so doing dramatically improves the process of content discovery and consumption for wireless subscribers.”

“Mobile users are demanding more and more sophisticated rich-media content experiences, from personalized information services through to user-generated content,” said Peter Baldwin, Chief Executive Officer of MSX. “MSX with Volantis provides the mobile industry with a reliable, cost effective and compelling way to bring the latest technologies, including RSS and Blog Feeds, straight to the subscriber’s home screen.”

“We have a growing community of valued partners, both building value for and leveraging our core Framework and applications suite,” said Matthew Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Volantis. “New partners joining GetBuzz will benefit from the unique attributes of the BuzzCast application and a dynamic program that enables them to help address our growing carrier customer base.”
