GeoSpatial Training Services in conjunction with Landworks, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of two new instructor led courses covering the Google Maps API and Google Earth.
Both courses will be offered in the Houston and Denver offices in early 2007.
Introduction to the Google Maps API
This
two day course is designed to enable students to take advantage of the
Google Maps API for building custom AJAX based web applications. Take
advantage of today's hottest new web mapping technology and learn how
to create web maps, add map controls for user interactions (zooming and
panning), programmatically alter the map extent, add points of interest
to the map, add custom icons, geocode addresses, read addresses from an
external database or XML file, and display aerial photography. A
portion of the class will be devoted to developing a fully functional
web mapping application using the techniques learned during lecture.
Integrating ArcGIS Data with Google Earth
In
this one day course students learn how to integrate existing ESRI
format data into a Google Earth format for display and manipulation.
During this course students will discover how to use various tools for
migrating geodatabases, shapefiles, and other data formats into KML
format, Google Earth files. In addition, attendees will be introduced
to other basic Google Earth topics such as data sources provided by
Google, how to read KML files, address matching, and tools used to
manipulate the Google Earth display. Please feel free to bring sample
datasets from your organization for use during the course.
