Kapow Technologies Adds Marketing Chief to Seize Enterprise Web 2.0 Market

October 26, 2006; 05:14 AM
Kapow Technologies (http://www.kapowtech.com/), the leading enterprise mashup software platform provider, announced the addition of Joe Keller as chief marketing officer. As the company's first C-level marketing executive, he will be responsible for expanding and managing the company's worldwide marketing efforts, primarily in the United States and European regions.

"Joe comes to Kapow Technologies at a very exciting growth stage in our company, as we are now capitalizing on our early entry in the enterprise mashup software market," said Stefan Andreasen, CEO and founder of Kapow Technologies. "Joe spent almost two decades developing and marketing some of the world's most innovative software products, and we are counting on his experience to help us evangelize and sell mashup technologies into mainstream enterprise accounts."

The enterprise mashup market took off this year because Global 2000 companies have discovered that utilizing new forms Web-based software and tools (Ruby on Rails, AJAX, the Kapow Enterprise Mashup Platform) to accomplish content and data integration tasks are possible on a timescale and cost structure at a fraction of what it would take when compared with traditional methods.

Prior to Kapow Technologies, Keller held two VP-level marketing positions at Sun Microsystems. Most recently, he led the marketing group that creates and markets the SOA and Business Integration platform, the Java Composite Application Platform Suite. He also identified, evaluated, selected and drove the business plan for the successful acquisition of SeeBeyond. From 2003 to 2005, Keller managed the Application & Developer Platform marketing group that creates and markets the Java platform, Java Enterprise System, Studio development tools and Sun Developer Network. In this role, he also developed and rolled out Sun's SOA strategy, oversaw the rollout and distribution of Sun's latest Java Technology to over 150 Million PCs worldwide, and drove the expansion of the Sun Developer Network into the 1.8-million-member Java community.

"I am very excited to join Kapow Technologies," said Keller. "There are very few enterprise software companies in history that have not only pioneered a new category with a billion-dollar potential, but also have a three-year development advantage on the competition. If the industry analysts are correct, we will have many positive growth challenges ahead as Global 2000 companies come to understand how many ways enterprise mashups can benefit their business and IT objectives."
