Ajaxian.com Announces 'The Ajax Experience Fall 2006', the Premier Ajax Conference Series, Taking Place October 23-25 in Boston, MA

September 13, 2006; 06:16 AM

Ajaxian (http://www.ajaxian.com) announced that the premier Ajax web development conference series, The Ajax Experience (http://www.theajaxexperience.com), is coming to Boston on October 23-25, 2006. Building on the success of the first Ajax Experience event, held in San Francisco in May of this year, the Fall event includes an impressive line up of both industry luminaries and seasoned practitioners of cutting edge web development techniques.

Taking its name from an on-line essay published in early 2005, "Ajax" represents a dynamic new way to create web pages that are highly interactive and usually very innovative, as demonstrated by such successful Ajax-powered websites as Google Maps (maps.google.com), Yahoo!'s new homepage (http://www.yahoo.com), and Backpack from 37signals (http://www.backpackit.com). Nearly every major web property has now incorporated Ajax functionality, and developers with expertise in Ajax technologies are in high demand.

Ajaxian.com is regarded as the gathering place for the emerging community of Ajax website developers and designers on the web. "For over 18 months, we've been tracking the Ajax movement -- since it first began," said Ben Galbraith, Ajaxian's co-founder. "And ever since we first launched the site, we've wanted to bring the community together in one room and address the issues we face every day. Frankly, when we announced the first event in San Francisco, we weren't sure how many people would show up. But we filled to capacity -- in fact, we had to order extra supplies literally two nights before show-time. It was a tremendous success. We're absolutely thrilled to bring the Ajax Experience show to the east coast."

Just as Ajaxian.com has become the premier on-line community for Ajax developers, the Ajax Experience has distinguished itself as the premier conference series due to its unrelenting focus on high-quality technical content. Attendees at the Boston event will enjoy three days of content rich sessions, opportunities to discuss their concerns with the key individuals moving the Ajax space forward, and keynote addresses from industry luminaries.

"This conference was built by developers for developers," added Dion Almaer, Ajaxian's other founder. "The Ajax Experience is the only international Ajax conference which offers in-depth 90 minute technical sessions every day spread out over five concurrent tracks to choose from. That's over 50 sessions in total, which is nearly double what the first show had."

The first Ajax Experience conference enjoyed a capacity crowd of over 400 attendees. Nearly 350 filled out survey forms at the end of the event, 98% of which stated they'd recommended the event to others, and nearly all surveys universally praised the event. Of course, the surveys just echo the sentiment felt at the conference itself, where industry luminaries such as Kevin Lynch (Chief Software Architect of Adobe Systems), Scott Dietzen (President and CTO of Zimbra), and Brenden Eich (inventor of JavaScript and CTO of Mozilla) presented.

"My most memorable moment of the first show was when an attendee came up to us and said he paid to come to the event out of his own pocket," Mr. Galbraith continued. "I jokingly went to reach for my wallet and he stopped me, saying 'No way, I definitely got my money's worth at the event. It was fantastic.' We can't wait to be part of the next event in Boston."

Sponsorship and Exhibit Opportunities

Ajaxian is thrilled to announce that TIBCO and Google have renewed their early sponsorship commitment to The Ajax Experience in San Francisco by returning and increasing their sponsorship of the Fall show. In addition, Yahoo! is also sponsoring the event. Further announcements will detail additional sponsors that have been lined up for the event.
