Watch-Broswer.com Launches Proprietary AJAX Search Features

September 4, 2006; 02:55 AM

www.watch-browser.com is a unique new way to visually search a database of over 40,000 wrist watches using Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) technology.  AJAX technology allows a web page to request data from a server without refreshing the whole page, making it possible to update only parts of a web page 'behind the scenes'. watch-browser.com uses this technology to update the search results while the user types the search keywords,  giving instant visual feedback for the users search request.

More filters allow the user to narrow down the shown wrist watches:

- A slider lets the user change the minimum and maximum price whereas the watches that fall into that price range are instantly shown.

- An auto-complete mechanism lets the user type in parts of a brand name to instantly see (and select) all wrist watch brands matching the given brand name part.

- User can choose to show only watches that fall into a specific category, for example "Mens' Watches". Most categories are subdivided in an hierarchical manner.

- Sorting option to sort by price or popularity.

The combined features allow the user to explore the approx. 40,000 wrist watches in a very interactive and effective manner.
