Gatlin Education Services Adds Web Development Course

August 11, 2006; 04:54 AM
Gatlin Education Services announced it will provide a Microsoft ASP.NET online training course beginning immediately. The 300-hour course will be offered solely through Gatlin’s partnership with major colleges and universities.

Designed as an interactive career training course, ASP.NET consists of 12 required modules as well as three optional units. The course aims to teach students how to develop Web applications based on Microsoft’s .NET development environment. Beginning with computer technology basics, students will be guided through a curriculum of VB.NET and C# languages, which are used to create Web applications. Students will also be provided with an academic version of Microsoft Visual Studio.NET.

Upon completion of the course, students will have learned the basics of computing technology, the concepts of HTML, DHTML, Cascading Style Sheets and JavaScript, how to develop applications utilizing Visual Studio .NET and programs in the VB.NET and C# languages, and more.

“The Internet is one of the most competitive landscapes out there, where staying on the cutting edge is absolutely vital to survival,” said Stephen Gatlin, founder of Fort Worth-based Gatlin Education Services. “The good news is that the ASP.NET course will help our students become viable contributors in an industry that is constantly progressing.”

The course will be instructed by Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs). The instructors will be available to students on a round-the-clock basis through Instant Mentoring.

Established in 1989 by Stephen Gatlin, Gatlin Education Services is the largest provider of Web-based, instructor-supported training to community colleges and universities. Gatlin’s courses are open enrollment, allowing interested students to start their desired training immediately. Gatlin’s online career training courses are designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions for many in-demand occupations.
