Recommind Launches Ajax-based MindServer 4.2May 23, 2006; 03:54 AM Recommind announced MindServer 4.2, the latest release of its flagship MindServer platform. The platform transforms high volumes of discrete files, documents, and messages contained in numerous enterprise applications into manageable information relevant to a user’s specific purpose. For enterprises, the MindServer 4.2 platform delivers breakthrough information access and usability, minimizing the need for costly application integration initiatives and generating higher return from an organization’s existing information stores. Building on MindServer’s industry-leading search accuracy and automation capabilities, MindServer 4.2 now provides enterprise users with search-based application integration, multi-level security, and Web 2.0 usability. “Enterprise information environments are so complex that no knowledge worker can be expected to understand and navigate the myriad information sources, systems, interrelationships, and business dimensions of the enterprise’s intellectual capital,” said Bob Tennant, CEO of Recommind. “The MindServer 4.2 platform enables an organization’s most important assets to be utilized by employees and customers for improving performance and driving business objectives faster and more effectively.” The MindServer 4.2 platform incorporates a search-based application integration framework to solve complex, large-enterprise information search challenges. Based on the user’s search request, the framework uses powerful inference technology to combine and integrate otherwise-unrelated documents and files from a wide range of sources into a set of context-based results that precisely relate to the user’s request. In the first application developed on this framework, Recommind’s Projects & Expertise allows users to find information related to documents, projects, and people by drawing inferences from relationships mapped between these objects. For example, a user can find individuals with specific skills, based on projects they have worked on and documents they have authored. Search terms provide context for results that cannot be derived from a static resume profile. Recommind has filed a number of patents in relation to search-based application integration. Release 4.2 of the MindServer platform contains additional enhanced features, including: • Web 2.0 usability—enhanced Smart Filtering features provide a simple AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML)-based interface, enabling users to quickly and easily drill down into details of a specific result set. Dynamic computation of result sets helps users immediately analyze and focus in on relevant information out of millions of documents. “As a global firm, we recognized the need for a single information access platform that enables us to search and discover meaningful information from massive volumes of documents, case files, email messages, and other objects,” said Oz Benamram, practice resources attorney for Morrison & Foerster. “The MindServer platform is an integral component of our firm’s commitment to the highest level of intellectual agility and client service.” Recommind’s MindServer 4.2 platform is built on the company’s patented Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis (PLSA) algorithm, which powers complex searches with precision to deliver highly accurate, complete results. The platform is an enterprise-class solution that scales to serve millions of users and search terabytes of data. Recommind’s customers include Fortune 1000 companies, government agencies, and firms in professional services, financial, pharmaceutical, retail, healthcare, and media. The MindServer 4.2 platform is immediately available. About Recommind |
