May 10, 2006; 03:22 AM Washington-based real estate technology
provider Real Tech, LLC, announced the integration of Microsoft’s
Virtual Earth technology.
Real-Maps 2.0™ allows consumers to interact with satellite maps and
bird’s eye imagery to determine where they want to search for homes.
The Microsoft service includes close-up photographic imagery with 45-degree
views of properties.
With the culmination of Microsoft Virtual earth technology, AJAX tools,
and dynamic property data, Real Tech has woven together years of research
and development to form a true Web 2.0 experience.
“The Real-Maps 2.0™ design and interaction model sets the standard for
real estate interactive maps,” said Steve Empey, President and CEO of
Real Tech LLC. “Street map and satellite imagery allows users to quickly
and easily navigate to property listings. With bird’s eye imagery, consumers
can really start to get a feel for the property and community they are
looking at.”
John L. Scott is the first residential real estate company in the nation
to utilize this new dimension in home search functionality which is
expected to redefine how consumers search for homes online.
"The team at Real Tech went above and beyond to provide the design and
integration needed to launch John L. Scott's new High-Definition Home
Search powered by Microsoft's Virtual Earth. All of us at John L. Scott
are so grateful to partner with such a professional and talented organization
for our technology needs." J. Lennox Scott, Chairman and CEO, John L.
