Xandros Server to Use Scalix Messaging Solution, Including AJAX-based Scalix Web Access

Xandros, the leading provider of easy-to-use Linux alternatives to Windows, and Scalix, the leading provider of email and calendaring on Linux and open source, today announced an agreement to add Scalix messaging and collaboration to the forthcoming Xandros Server, to provide a powerful and easy-to-use alternative to Windows-based messaging systems.

The integration of Scalix within Xandros Server provides small and medium businesses with an all-in-one groupware solution, where the management of users can be centrally administered through the Scalix management plug-in within the remote, all-graphical Xandros Management Console. The combined solution delivers world-class email and calendaring with support for a wide array of rich email clients, including Outlook and the AJAX-based Scalix Web Access, as well as advanced email reliability, security and openness. Both Xandros Server and Scalix won product excellence awards for best server and best messaging solution respectively, at LinuxWorld Boston this month.
