Pegasystems, a leader in unified process and rules technology, announced that eWEEK Labs has named Pegasystems latest version of SmartBPM 5.1 to its List of Top Products for 2006.

Each year the reviewers of eWEEK select from a group of more than 300 product reviews that they deem are the best products reviewed in the calendar year. SmartBPM was selected as one of only eight products to receive this distinction, and is the only Business Process Management (BPM) suite recognized on the list. eWEEK Labs reviewer Michael Caton commented, "During my tests, I was impressed with the reach of SmartBPM's development environment -- from highly customizable applications built with HTML, Java and AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) to simple applications based on HTML forms."

Pegasystems' SmartBPM delivers BPM in a single unified application, providing the world's leading organizations with the integration of business processes and policies. This powerful combination gives organizations the ability to manage, automate and optimize their operations to gain strategic and competitive advantage. In the original review, eWEEK recognized SmartBPM 5.1 based on its "robust but not overly complex environment," superior version control capabilities and accessible browser-based development environment. The review also noted the strengths of the product's report features, dashboards and AJAX-based "hover and see" elements. "Many of the world's top companies rely on Pegasystems' products to drive continuous business improvement, growth and productivity," said Jay Sherry, vice president of marketing and solution frameworks, Pegasystems. "The original review examined the SmartBPM Suite's most significant upgrade in two years, and we were delighted to receive such high marks. We are honored to be recognized by eWEEK as a Top Product for 2006 and believe the depth of our product along with the enhanced capabilities and ease of use earned us this distinction."
