Serendipity Technologies, provider of Web 2.0 solutions for the enterprise, announced that it has been selected to present at AJAXWorld in New York. Yuval Tarsi, co-founder and vice president of research and development. Yuval Tarsi, co-founder and vice president of research and development, will present "Secure Web 2.0 Solutions for the Enterprise: Beyond Blogs and Wikis," highlighting the use of Web 2.0 technologies in accessing enterprise application data and the associated security hurdles that need to be addressed. AAJXWorld 2007 will take place from Monday, March 19 - Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in the Roosevelt Hotel, New York.

Interest in Enterprise Web 2.0 has until now been focused primarily on blogs and wikis. These tools enhance the collaborative experience of knowledge workers and consumers by fostering improved sharing of unstructured data such as procedures, instructions and e-mail text.  In contrast, there has been very little discussion about how Web 2.0 tools can enhance access to the structured data that drive the business.

Now, for the first time, there is a new generation of tools and technologies that can significantly improve business productivity, by helping information workers find and use the data they need to do their jobs. With these tools, employees themselves will define how they visualize, aggregate and use critical data, regardless of where that data comes from - structured data from critical business applications like customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning or unstructured data off the Web and by e-mail.  Wide-spread adoption of these technologies depends mainly on the industry's ability to address the usability, scalability and security aspects of these technologies.

Serendipity's WorkLight(TM) offering provides employees with customized and personalized "Web 2.0-style" access to corporate data that reside in enterprise applications.  These data can be provided via services and underlying technologies, such as RSS and AJAX, and can be presented via gadget/widgets, personalized home pages, social bookmarks, mashups and others. With WorkLight, employees themselves define how information they need is aggregated and presented, regardless of where it comes from - structured data from business applications like CRM or ERP, or unstructured data, such as RSS feeds or e-mail.  These data can reside within the firewall, can be publicly available from the Web, or both.  Most importantly, with WorkLight, organizational access control and security policies are enforced. The benefit to the enterprise is a substantial productivity gain, since people can easily find and use the information they need to do their jobs, quickly, efficiently and securely. Serendipity's enterprise-ready technology is scalable and conforms to existing and future security and access-control policies.  For more information, visit www.serendipity-tech.com.
