Two months after the acquisition of PHPScript.se's PHP Data Gridi,
Senza Limiti releases the first major update. Version 2.0 significantly
improves performance on large tables and adds a host of new features to
make handling and display of complex grids easier.
|
The most important changes are as follows:
Increased performance for large tables (from 4 seconds on each Ajax call for a 10,000 row table to 0,2 seconds).
The grid is now able to fall back to GET parameters if JavaScript is
disabled (VIEW mode only). This allows use in Ajax applications with
graceful degradation for older browser.
Support for joins of multiple tables.
The Excel export is now much faster and more compatible.
Senza Limiti introduced a flexible plugin system for changing the
content of table cells before displaying them or before inserting them
back into the database. This allows for the display of "image" fields,
or for making it easier for the user to edit complex data. A demo at
the slGrid website shows also how to use the plugin architecture for
inline editing of table cells.
A complete list of changes can be found at the slGrid website at

slGrid remains Open Source, released under the GPL; for use and
redistribution in closed-source applications, commercial licenses are
available, starting at $99 per license. With this, Senza Limiti follows
the successful model of dual licensing made popular by leading Open
Source vendors.
