WebSideStory, Inc., a provider of digital marketing and analytics
solutions, announced the launch of WebSideStory Publish 4.0, an
on-demand web content management solution that enables marketers to
automatically drive web site content placement based on visitor behavior
captured in HBX Analytics. This integrated capability allows marketers to
easily display the most popular and engaging content possible, thereby
increasing visitor loyalty, web site stickiness, customer satisfaction, and
even lead generation. For example, marketers can show the most popular
downloads on a site, as opposed to an alphabetical list, or make sure that top
customer support questions, product details or sales tools are updated in real
time based on the "wisdom of the crowd," or measures of popularity, such as
most requested pages. As an on-demand, web-based solution, WebSideStory
Publish 4.0 puts control of web site content in the hands of the content
owners themselves, freeing valuable IT resources for other projects. With the
launch, WebSideStory completes the integration between the different
components of its industry leading, on-demand digital marketing suite,
including web analytics (HBX), site search, web content management and keyword
bid management. This suite provides a unique differentiation over traditional
point solution web analytics providers, and allows marketers to engage in a
new era of online marketing optimization. "WebSideStory Publish has enabled us to be much more responsive to web site visitors, and has helped us more than double our online leads," said Dario Priolo, Executive Vice President of Miller Heiman, a leader in sales performance products. "We anticipate even better results using this new capability to automatically drive content placement based on web site user behavior. This type of innovation and synergy between products is one of the reasons we selected WebSideStory."
Analytics-driven content, which leverages the company's comprehensive suite of documented APIs (application programming interfaces) and web services, is just one of the innovative new capabilities within WebSideStory Publish 4.0. Other highlights include:
* Integrating Content From External Sources - In keeping with WebSideStory's industry leading Web 2.0 capabilities, WebSideStory Publish 4.0 enables marketers to easily integrate content from other sources into their site, including RSS feeds, database information, news articles and data from mapping services.
* PHP-based Templating System - Using enhanced scripting capabilities that leverage one of the most popular programming languages on the web, WebSideStory Publish 4.0 allows for much more sophisticated content creation. In addition to enabling analytics-driven content, this new system can automatically build a site map, generate site navigation based on the architecture of a site, or make sure content meets certain criteria, such as requiring FAQs to end in question marks.
* Automatically Generate HBX Analytics Tags for Easy Analysis - When a new page is created in WebSideStory Publish 4.0, an HBX web analytics tag will automatically be customized and installed, providing for easy implementation and analysis.
* New and Familiar User Interface - WebSideStory has a new interface that enables online marketers who utilize multiple applications in the WebSideStory Suite to work in a familiar application environment with a common look and feel.
"WebSideStory Publish has been a critical part of our web site operations for a number of years," said Bill Benz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for J. & W. Seligman & Co., a financial services company. "It has not only empowered our business users, but enabled our IT staff to devote more resources to core competencies. Most important, it has allowed us to provide a more engaging experience for our visitors and internal customers."
"WebSideStory Publish 4.0 marks the latest in a series of important innovations in the web analytics and digital marketing industry," said Steve Kusmer, Senior Vice President and General Manager of WebSideStory's Search and Content Solutions unit. "Web analytics-driven content enables businesses to provide a much more robust and engaging visitor experience. It also exemplifies the tremendous synergies that exist between our products."
Last month, WebSideStory announced Active Browsing, an industry first and patent-pending capability that enables companies to easily integrate Ajax into their site search results for improved speed and customer interactivity. In April 2006, WebSideStory launched WebSideStory Search 4.0 with Active Ranking, another patent-pending capability that enables marketers to automatically drive site search results based on web site visitor behavior.
