Reality Digital, an established leader in video sharing for businesses, announced the addition of social networking capabilities to its Opus platform, a hosted white label solution for monetizing user-generated content (UGC) within an online business environment. Reality Digital said it is the first to market a comprehensive, three-in-one hosted UGC service for the enterprise customer that encompasses the hottest of Web 2.0 functionalities: video, advertising and blogging.

Reality Digitals features for the enterprise include Reality Digital Opus, a digital media and video hosting platform that includes the Opus Dashboard, a full-featured administrative, monitoring and reporting interface; Opus AdCel, a patent-pending in-video advertising module, and new blogging and forum functionality that enables end-users to create a blog in an Opus-supported environment. This innovative suite offers the enterprise a complete social-networking tool set integrated in a single media environment. Forward-looking features include 1-click video post, trackbacks, comment moderation, ratings, publishing and syndication tools, robust reporting capabilities, a customizable graphical user interface and video playlist creation with all administrative features controlled through Opus Dashboard. The single-vendor offering equips the enterprise to enhance brand consistency, improve site stickiness, reduce overhead, monetize content and filter undesirable or copyrighted content.

With all of the action around Web 2.0 today, enterprises have an unprecedented opportunity to engage their customers in direct community-oriented conversation, said Julien Blin, research analyst at IDC Research. YouTube, Myspace and the like have sewn up the large, consumer-oriented content aggregation market, but for the enterprise customer wishing to leverage the space, there exists very few options.

Reality Digital launched its Opus hosted video platform in August 2006 with business customers from multiple vertical markets including Atom Entertainment, Inc., Music Player Network and SPARQ Training. With the new blogging and forum functionality, enterprise customers now have the ability to create innovative Web 2.0 sites, or add Web 2.0 functionality to existing sites, in order to engage their customers in a mutually beneficial dialogue. No other hosted offering gives companies this level of customer interaction and branding capability with complete functional consistency between all applications and tools.

Reality Digital has combined the hottest Web 2.0 functionalities and packaged them under one roof for the enterprise customer, said Cynthia Francis, chief executive officer of Reality Digital. We see this as the next logical step from separate sites and vendors for video, blogging, and ad serving. Businesses benefit from Reality Digitals hosted one-stop shop approach through a full-featured set of tools to keep the user engaged longer, increase protection from potential copyright violations, and provide the power to pick and choose which features the end-user can access. End-users, on the other hand, enjoy a single place of relevance inside a community that is already meaningful to them, where they can keep all of their comments, media and content in one central location.

The Reality Digital Opus platform is a Digital Media Management Framework (DMMF) based on industry standards such as Microsoft COM and ASP, AJAX, SOAP, XML, JavaScript, HTTP and SMTP. It is an N-tier solution built upon Microsofts .NET Framework, Microsoft SQL Server and IIS 6. The architecture is separated into multiple physical tiers that include the application interface, business logic, asset repository and file type support.
