"As much as Exch is an exercise in XUL development, and an example of XUL to others, it is quite useful also!"

Exch is a mashup application that can be used as either an extension for Firefox, or as a standalone application.  It uses JavaScript and  XML User interface markup language (XUL) to retrieve real-time data from Yahoo! Finance and perform the necessary currency calculations.  With Exch you can easily convert between all national currencies and the main precious metals.

Exch can be easily installed as an extension for the latest Mozilla Firefox web browser.  Alternatively, if you have installed the XULRunner runtime environment for XUL applications, you can use Exch in standalone mode.  XULRunner is available for both Windows and Linux.  Exch and XULRunner can be downloaded from exch.mozdev.org.

Exch, currently in v.1.0.9, is developed by the Mozdev.org software development community.  The software is released as open source.
