Noovo is a new AJAX-based web service for homepage editing, which will also provide page hosting in the future.  It is currently in an Alpha demo phase, and during that time only main features of the webpage editor application will be available.

Using Noovo's Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) web application, anyone can create a simple personal webpage, blog, or image gallery.  The service provides both the tools to create a webpage from scratch and the option to use ready-made templates.  Noovo does not require knowledge of HTML or other web development techniques, although some aesthetic sense will certainly come in handy.

The online application has tools for manipulating all the main elements of a webpage: background, text, and images.  It also provides a selection of menus for different purposes, as well as options for saving and loading projects.

Currently, Noovo gives each visitor a temporary account instead of offering a formal log-in process.  Cookies are used to identify visitors during repeated visits.  The Noovo server keeps the data as long as that cookie information in kept intact in the user's browser.

Noovo is compatible with Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox 1.5. The team said they are working on compatibility with other browers.
