Danger, Inc. announced that T-Mobile USA, Inc. will introduce the T-Mobile Sidekick 3, the latest device to feature Danger's award-winning software. In addition to being a full-featured mobile phone and digital organizer, the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 provides an entire suite of mobile Internet applications, including HTML Web browser, push e-mail and instant messaging. Users will be able to make calls with Bluetooth-enabled headsets, enjoy faster access speeds with EDGE connectivity and listen to MP3 music files. All of this is packaged in a fully redesigned device that is sleeker and smaller than the previous version and includes Danger's latest software, version 3.0.

Existing T-Mobile customers will be the first to be able to purchase the T-Mobile Sidekick 3. For an initial 12-day period beginning today, limited quantities of the in-demand all-in-one communications device will be available exclusively to current T-Mobile USA post-paid customers. T-Mobile Sidekick 3 will be available to the general public at T-Mobile retail stores and online at www.sidekick.com beginning on Monday, July 10.

The T-Mobile Sidekick 3 is supported by the Danger platform, an innovative client/server software infrastructure that pushes e-mail, instant messages and other data to the device in real-time. The Danger platform features a data center that does the "heavy-lifting" on the back-end, optimizing, compressing and then delivering data securely and efficiently over the wireless network to the device. Because of Danger's powerful operating system, multiple applications on the device run concurrently and interact with each other, providing a PC-like multitasking experience for consumers. The result is high performance for users and efficient use of network resources for wireless operators.

Consumers with Danger-powered devices use the Web, e-mail and instant messaging 10 times more than the average U.S. wireless consumer. While 100 percent of people with a Danger device use it for e-mail or to surf the Web, information from JupiterResearch indicates that only 10.2 percent of U.S. online consumers browse the wireless Web, and only 8 percent check an e-mail account with a mobile device. Similarly, while 80 percent of Danger users send and receive instant messages with their handset, only 6.8 percent of U.S. online consumers use mobile devices for this purpose. On average, Danger users view 300 Web pages while sending and receiving 400 e-mails and 1000 instant messages per month.

The most popular Internet destinations for consumers using Danger-powered devices are social networking sites, Web-based e-mail services and major portals. Search, local information, blogging, sports and auction Web sites are also among the most popular Internet destinations. Web usage has continued to grow into 2006, propelled by the launch of an upgraded Web browser with support for JavaScript, providing access to more of the Internet for activities such as online banking.

"Danger users are more active than other mobile consumers and they are clearly on the forefront of some major industry trends, including social networking, blogging and mobile instant messaging," said Mark Fisher, Senior Vice President Marketing and Business Development, Danger. "We expect to see these trends continue, and in some cases accelerate as the next generation device hardware and service software becomes available."
