Joomla Ajax Chat 1.0.1 Beta Released

Joomla Ajax Chat 1.0.1 Beta is now avaialble for download from the commercial downloads section at http://fijiwebdesign.com/component/option,com_docman/task,cat_view/gid,93/. You are able to donwload the Beta only if you have purchased a previous version of Ajax Chat.

The new version comes with a few new features and fixes to bugs. This version is not stable and is intended only for Beta Testing. If you would like to help in beta testing you can download the files from the filebase and install them on a testing server.

 New Features:

  •  New Toolbar for formatting messages, adding smilies and color
  • Support for both Mambo 4.5.2+ and Joomla
  • Support for Community Builder Profiles and Profile Image.
  • Support for Joomlas built in Contacts Component (com_contacts) and contact Image.
  • New Developer Extension framework for extending the Chat Client and Chat Server features
  • Many new extensions included by default with the extensions framework
  • Custom configurations of each extension, or plugin to Global Chat config
  • New CSS styles for chat interface (client)
  • Event triggers added to many chat functions (new messages, new Private Chat etc.)
  • Better handling of Ajax Request by the client for fewer requests yet faster updates.

 Bug Fixes:

  •  Fixed Memory Leaks in IE browser caused by circular references in Javascript adddressing the DOM
  • Fixed IE Crashes due to DOM manipulation during onload
  • Fixed JS Domain Security Conflict caused by reading the live site from Joomla PHP instead of address bar
  • Cleaned up common.js to support wider range of DOM capable browsers
  • Removed all warning notices from PHP where Error Level set to E_ALL (report all errors)
  • Improved performance of PHP code on Server Side handling HTTP Requests
