The Dojo Toolkit is attracting considerable attention.  In the course of a single week two Dojo-related events took place in the USA: Dojo gurus Alex Russel and Dylan Schiemann hosted panels at the Ajax Experience conference that started May 10th, and AOL sponsored and held a Dojo development event on May 13th.

The Ajax Experience included three Dojo presentations.  The slides from the conference are available for download in PDF format. The first one is entitled "Intro to Dojo" and covers basic concepts; "advanced" coders can download the "Dojo in Depth" presentation; the third presentation is "Building Event-Driven User Interfaces with Dojo." A couple of days after Ajax Experience the first annual Dojo Developer Day was held with the support of AOL (in the form of "food, drinks, and wi-fi"). The event was announced as a "time to hack, test, and socialize," and included ad-hoc discussion groups and "lightning demos."

Dojo is an open source JavaScript toolkit that helps web developers build dynamic interfaces and web applications. It is compatible across all popular browser. From the official website: "Dojo lets you prototype interactive widgets quickly, animate transitions, and build Ajax requests with the most powerful and easiest to use abstractions available... Dojo also packs an easy to use widget system. From prototype to deployment, Dojo widgets are HTML and CSS all the way. Best of all, since Dojo is portable JavaScript to the core, your widgets can be portable between HTML, SVG, and whatever else comes down the pike. "
