The newly released @Mail v.4.4 includes a new Ajax webmail interface, utilizing the latest browser features and improving usability. An updated HTML
for IE/Mozilla browsers is included, as well as live spell-check via Ajax for
email-messages, server-side optimization of code, and improved
integration of Spamassassin.
@Mail is a robust integration of open source technology, Unix, strong encryption, and industry-standard Groupware Features in a centralized messaging platform.
@Mail Features:
1. New Ajax Interface for IE/Firefox: New Ajax interface based
on the simple login-style of @Mail. A complete interface re-write that
includes Ajax support to display, read and reply to email-messages.
Browser message cache implemented to improve performance of the
frontend without having to request the same data back and forth to the
server
2. Native Drag'n'Drop support: Message drag and drop support in
the Ajax simple interface. Messages are removed on the server via Ajax,
and the email row automatically removed from the interface. The
selected mailbox no longer has to refresh to contain an updated list of
messages.
3. Improved HTML Editor: New HTML email editor for IE and Mozilla browsers - An improved editor that uses a single Javascript application for both IE and Mozilla.
4. Live spell check via Ajax: A new and improved spell-check
module written in Ajax - Users can click to spell-check a message and
the content is automatically highlighted for misspelt words, no page
refreshes or clumsy interfaces required for spell check outgoing
messages.
