WikiUpload is a new AJAX service that provides users with 5GB of free web storage. WikiUpload's stated goal is "to build the largest library of open-content video clips, music and media files, and shareware in the world."

WikiUpload does not offer different "plans", or types of accounts.  Everything on the site is free.  In a "digitally democratic format", the site will rank uploaded files based on their popularity. If a file is not accessed for more than 30 days, it will be deleted.  As the site grows and resources are added WikiUpload will be able to allow bigger file sizes than 5GB and longer time periods than 30 days.

WikiUpload lets users tag files (if they are uploaded in a public space), and it also monitors the popularity of those tags and the files themselves.

The site forbids the upload of pornographic or abusive material, as well as files that infringe copyights or trademarks.

The WikiUpload master plan.
