Online Word Processor ajaxWrite Launches

ajaxWrite provides the functionality of a traditional word processor

ajaxWrite is the latest in a line of online word processors like ThinkFree Write and Google-acquired Writely.  It does not require sign-up, registration, or installation of software other than Firefox 1.5.  ajaxWrite does not support other mainstream browsers like Internet Explorer and Safari.

Its look and basic set of options are remarkably similar to  those of popular Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.org word processors.  With ajaxWrite users can create fairly complex documents and save them on their computers as either of four formats - text, rich text, Microsoft Word, and PDF.  Aside from creating new documents, ajaxWrite allows for editing existing ones via a standard File>Open routine.

Users can include graphics, tables and footnotes in their documents.  A spell checker component is currently being developed.

ajaxWrite is, of course, free. It is plarform independent and requires the loading of less than 400 kB.
