This library provides you with easy-to-use, compatible and, ultimately, totally cool JavaScript libraries to make your web sites and web applications fly, Web 2.0 style.

All script.aculo.us provided JavaScript libraries are implemented with the following goals in mind:

• Least possible use of additional HTML mark-up
• Usage of established standards (like DOM, XHTML and CSS)
• Transparent compatibility with all major browsers that feature support for Web 2.0 technology. As of now, following browsers are supported: Firefox 1.0 (and most other Gecko-engine based browsers), Internet Explorer 6 and Safari. Many other browsers work, too.
• Complete object-orientation
• Small, efficient codebase
