Ibis Released a Full Browser ''ibisBrowser DX'' on Java MIDP for Technology Preview

July 27, 2007; 03:31 AM
Ibis incorporated (Nagoya, Aichi, Japan) has released ibisBrowserDX (download site: http://ibis.ne.jp/en/browser/) technology preview version. ibisBrowserDX is a client/server type high speed full browser dedicated for mobile phones. It can run Java (MIDP 2.0) applications and enables mobile phones comfortably to surf web sites made for PCs. The browser servers parse HTMLs and translate them into compressed rendering instructions instead of mobile phones. The beta version and the official versions of ibisBrowserDX in Japanese for DoCoMo FOMA were released in June 2005 and November 2005, respectively.

The special features of ibisBrowserDX

High speed communication: ibisBrowserDX is a client/server type browser. Even on the mobile phone with lower memory and slower CPU, it runs comfortably since the operations (retrieving and compressing a requested site) are performed on the server side.
