Process Automation Without ScriptingApril 5, 2007; 05:52 AM Simply highlight screen objects, and assign actions to them from a drop-down menu. AppNavigator sees the same screen objects that you do. Show it what to look for, and what to click on, and build a complex process using nothing but visual cues. Your automation becomes a storyboard of graphical objects. For each step in the process, you can assign pre- and post-actions to each object. For example, you can send a mouse event, send text, run a script or program, retrieve data from a database, or send an email, based upon user choices. Because AppNavigator works from screen images, you can automate everything from text-based mainframe ("green screen") applications to Java-based web programs. There is no need to hire programmers who understand the technology behind the images on the screen. Instead of trying to anticipate how a Flash movie or an OSX session places images on the screen, you simply identify the images to AppNavigator. The program lets business people create solutions in minutes. With traditional tools a typical automation task may require three to five days of programming, testing, implementing, then correcting. This process typically carries considerable cost. With AppNavigator not only the first project, but every project, becomes a matter of minutes or hours, handled by non-programmers and maintained by business users with very little interruption of business. AppNavigator requires MJT Net's Macro Scheduler 9.0 or later, and runs on Windows Vista/2003/XP/2000. Contact the company for pricing information. Companies can request a 30-day trial version of AppNavigator, or arrange for a live demo.
