Site9, Inc., whose software tools allow
companies to develop and launch next-generation web sites, announced it has received $1.1 million in venture capital funding
led by Mount Hood Equity Partners of Lake Oswego, Oregon. The funding
enables Site9 to further develop its software and market it to
interactive, advertising and web development agencies. "This capital will help us get our incredibly efficient web
development tools into the hands of more companies," said Don Carter,
president and CEO of Site9. "We're very excited to show advertising and
interactive agencies how easy they can quickly build very complex web
sites for their clients. And their clients will love how they'll keep
the sites updated without the headaches typically associated with
content-rich sites."
Site9's software lets a company build a dynamic web site from
scratch without templates or take an existing site and automatically
integrate it onto the Site9 platform. On the Site9 technology platform,
features are easily added and content management tools are included.
Next-generation features like social networking, podcasting,
video-on-demand, RSS feeds, Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) interfaces, and blogs are integrated
into the tool, so adding them to a site is easy. Furthermore, changes
are automatically made across multiple pages that are optimized for
search engines. Founded in 1998 by web developers and programmers, Site9, Inc, has
evolved into an early-stage software company that is creating a new
technology and development platform for designing, deploying and
managing next generation
websites.
